Heat Wave.

*This is not the elderly couple; I just google-d the pictured xD*

So we’re now in day two of Toronto’s heat wave. And what a heat wave it is.
I feel like I’m back in the desert, the air is so heavy and humid. You HAVE to really travel with water bottle.

I didn’t have class today but I promised the Doctor, who’s clinic I work for, that I would teach him how to use iTunes. Apparently he’s gained a liking to listening to music and bought a new iPod. Anyways, on my lunch break I planned on go to the mall across the street to get myself something to eat, but on my way there I saw something incredibly cute.

They were an elderly couple making their way across the parking lot and into Zellers. They were quite old; and the woman was using a walker and because of it had a very slouched back. Her husband was holding an umbrella under which he mostly used to keep the sun off his wife (and somewhat himself) and had a water bottle with him, which he drank from himself and gave to his wife periodically.

Even in his age, he took such care of her. He looked ahead of her and made sure there weren’t any bumps on the road. He helped her up on to the sidewalk once the reached the mall, and he held the door open so she could walk in.

Honestly, it was something really sweet and inspiring to see.

Love is not just for the youth, it exists in old age too.
I used to be really afraid of getting old, and I still am actually. But watching this sight caused me to somewhat warm up to the fact that we all get old and there are gonna be times when other people will have to take care of us.

I’m not looking forward to it nor should I worry, I’m not even 20 yet.
But it’s reassuring.
